Terms of Service.

Effective 23 September 2026

In short: you keep ownership of your music, but by submitting you give Uncover Online a permanent, worldwide, free licence to use, promote and share it, including with third-party partners. You promise you have the rights to everything you send.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Uncover Online ("Uncover Online", "we", "us", "our"), which operates the website at uncoveronline.com and any related services, pages, emails and social channels (the "Platform").

By accessing the Platform, creating an account or submitting any material, you confirm you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or at least 16 with the consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
  • If you submit on behalf of a band, label, management company or other person, you confirm you are authorised to bind them to these Terms, and "you" includes them.
  • You must give accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • We may suspend, restrict or close any account, or refuse service, at our sole discretion and without notice, including where we suspect a breach of these Terms.

3. Submissions

"Submission" means everything you send us through the Platform or otherwise, including recordings, compositions, lyrics, artwork, photographs, videos, biographies, your name, stage name, voice, likeness and social media links ("Content").

  • Submissions are unsolicited and free. We do not pay for submissions, and submitting does not create any employment, partnership, agency or management relationship.
  • We are under no obligation to review, respond to, feature, accept or use any Submission. All decisions to accept, decline, feature or remove are at our sole discretion and are final.
  • Submissions cannot be edited after they are sent, and a submission may be retained even if it is declined.
  • You understand we may already be developing, or receive from others, material similar to yours, and nothing obliges us to treat your Submission as confidential or novel.

4. Licence you grant to us

You keep ownership of your Content. In exchange for us considering your Submission, you grant Uncover Online a worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid-up, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, transferable and sublicensable (through multiple tiers) licence to:

  • host, store, copy, reproduce, edit, cut, remix for promotional purposes, adapt, translate, format and create excerpts of your Content;
  • publish, perform, broadcast, stream, display, transmit, distribute and make available your Content in any media now known or later developed, including websites, apps, social media, podcasts, radio, live events, playlists, newsletters and advertising;
  • use your name, stage name, image, likeness, voice and biography in connection with your Content and to promote Uncover Online, its events, partners and services;
  • share, send and sublicense your Content to third parties, including record labels, publishers, promoters, event organisers, radio stations, DJs, playlist curators, media outlets, brand and sponsorship partners, and service providers, for discovery, promotion, A&R and commercial purposes.

This licence begins when you submit and continues even if your Submission is declined or you close your account. If you ask us to stop using Content, we will make reasonable efforts to stop new uses going forward, but we are not required to remove Content already published, distributed or shared with third parties.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive, and agree not to assert, any moral rights (including rights to be identified as author and to object to derogatory treatment under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988) in relation to our and our sublicensees' permitted uses of your Content. We will try to credit you where practical, but failure to do so is not a breach.

Any separate commercial deal (for example a recording, publishing, booking or distribution agreement) will be set out in a separate written contract.

5. Your promises to us

Each time you submit, you promise (warrant) that:

  • you own or control all rights needed to grant the licence above, including in master recordings, compositions, lyrics, samples, beats, featured performances, artwork and photographs;
  • all third-party permissions, clearances and consents have been obtained, including from co-writers, producers, featured artists, labels, publishers, collecting societies and anyone pictured;
  • our use of your Content as permitted by these Terms will not infringe any copyright, trade mark, privacy, publicity or other rights, and will not require us to pay anyone;
  • your Content is not defamatory, obscene, unlawful, and does not contain malware;
  • the information you provide is true and complete.

Indemnity. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Uncover Online, its owners, officers, staff, partners and sublicensees against all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from any breach of these promises or of these Terms, or from your Content.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not submit content you do not have the rights to, or content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, violent incitement, or otherwise unlawful.
  • Do not impersonate anyone, create multiple accounts to spam submissions, scrape the Platform, attempt to access other users' data, or interfere with its security or operation.
  • Do not use the Platform to send unsolicited advertising.

7. Our content and brand

The Platform, including its design, text, articles, logos, the "Uncover Online" name and other branding, is owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, reuse or exploit it without our written permission, except to share links to our pages.

9. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any Submission will lead to exposure, bookings, deals or income. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of your Content.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot be limited under English law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, opportunity, reputation or data, and our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Platform or these Terms is limited to £100.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms at any time. The version and date you accepted are recorded with each Submission. Material changes will be posted on this page, and continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time. The licence, promises, indemnity, liability and governing law sections survive termination.

12. General

  • We may assign or transfer our rights under these Terms, including the licence, to any successor or affiliate. You may not assign yours without our consent.
  • If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver.
  • These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Platform.
  • These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
