Competition Terms

1. The promoter

Each competition is run by Uncover Online ("Uncover", "we", "us"). These Competition Terms apply alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If they conflict, these Competition Terms apply to your entry. Contact: teamuncoveronline@gmail.com.

2. Who can enter

You must be 16 or older to enter. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you. Uncover staff and their close family cannot enter.

You must be the performer in the video, or have written permission from everyone who appears in it.

3. How to enter

Download the supplied track, record a video using it, and upload the video through the competition page with your artist name, email and at least one Instagram or TikTok handle. Accepted formats are MP4, MOV, WEBM and M4V, up to 500MB.

Only one entry is allowed per person, per email address, per competition. Entries must arrive between the opening and closing dates shown on the competition page. Late, incomplete, corrupted or automated entries are invalid. Entering is free and no purchase is needed.

4. Judging and winners

Uncover's team chooses the winners using its own creative judgement, considering things like performance, originality, energy and use of the track. Our decision is final and we will not discuss it.

We aim to contact winners by email and/or by tagging or messaging their social handles within 30 days of the closing date. If a winner does not reply within 14 days, or is not eligible, we may choose another winner.

5. The prize

The top 3 entrants each win a freestyle feature on Uncover. We will agree the date, location and format with you. The prize has no cash value, cannot be transferred, and has no cash alternative. You are responsible for your own travel and costs unless we agree otherwise in writing. We may replace the prize with one of similar value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary.

6. Rights you grant in your video

You keep ownership of your entry. By entering, you grant Uncover and its affiliates, partners and successors a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid, transferable and sublicensable licence to use your entry video and anything in it in any way and in any media, now known or developed later. This includes the right to:

• host, reproduce, edit, cut, remix, subtitle, adapt, crop and combine it with other content;
• publish, broadcast, stream, distribute and make it available on uncoveronline.com, social media (including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook), partner channels, advertising and any other platform;
• share it with third parties, including labels, brands, promoters, media partners and distributors;
• monetise it, including through advertising, sponsorship and licensing, without payment to you;
• use your name, artist name, likeness, image, voice, biography and social handles with the video and to promote Uncover, the competition and future competitions.

This licence applies whether or not you win and continues after the competition ends. To the extent the law allows, you waive, and agree not to assert, any moral rights in your entry against Uncover or anyone it licenses.

7. The supplied track

The supplied track is provided only for making your competition entry. You may post your entry video on your own social channels if you tag Uncover and name the competition. You must not sell, distribute, register, claim or monetise the track, or upload it on its own anywhere. All rights in the track remain with its owners.

8. Your promises

You promise that your entry is your own original work (apart from the supplied track); that you own or have cleared all rights in everything in it, including other music, lyrics, samples, footage, locations and people; that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law; and that it contains nothing hateful, violent, sexually explicit, defamatory or harmful.

You agree to compensate Uncover for any claims, losses and costs that arise because you break these promises.

9. Removal and disqualification

We may refuse, remove or disqualify any entry, or any entrant, at any time and for any reason, including suspected cheating, abuse, vote manipulation or breaking these terms. We have no obligation to publish any entry.

10. Your data

We use your name, email, phone and handles to run the competition, contact and tag winners, and for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy. By entering, you agree that we may publish the winners' artist names and social handles.

11. Our liability

To the extent the law allows, Uncover is not liable for lost, late or failed uploads, technical faults, or any loss arising from the competition or the prize, except for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be excluded. We may change, suspend or cancel a competition if circumstances beyond our reasonable control require it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
